delSol and Civic?

Hi to all in the USA.
I have a reasonably simple question which you may be able to help with. No one here seems to know or won't tell me! Is a 1994 sol VTi the same underneath as a 94 Civi VTi or the US equivalent of both? I ask as I am looking for a stainless middle section of the exhaust and the sol is not listed under the one I want. The Civic is listed. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

I think that is because no one here knows what a VTi is. VTi was only used in europe so no one in the US would have a clue to what that was. Now i know you might have seen a del sol on our message board with VTi stickers and that is because that person decided to be tricky and bought those stickers from europe to stick on his car. The reason he did that was because he didnt want anyone to know what he really had underneath the hood. Here are basic models are EX, LX, Si, VTEC. I am probably missing some but i hope that answers your concern.

Sorry about that. I didn't know that yours were called differently. Mine is a VTEC. Its actually an SiR which was only sold in Japan and has a slightly higher compression ratio over the VTEC and gives 167hp as standard, when run on high RON petrol. Everything else is the same.
Its just the underneath I worried about.

The answer is no, the wheel base are different lengths and we here don't have the Civic VTi equivant, (only the Sol had the DOHC VTEC for '94-'97, then in '99-'01 they made a Civic SI with that engine), the only one close is a HB model and even then it's to long for our sols by about 2 inches.

Now from what I've heard on the Club Sol board in England is the JDM and VTi are different too, the cat used on the JDM is not the same length, but the VTi (Euro model) and DOHC VTEC (US Model) are both the same length. I can't understand why they couldn't help you on this question, it's been posted up about it a few times about it. Hope that helps you out some.

I have a feeling you are looking for a racing cat. And the answer is yes civic and sol have pretty much the same cat. (Although if it is civic exhaust like cat back be stand offish I picked up a civic exhaust and was selling it to Darren but it didn't fit.) Becareful though aftermarket cats a close to a direct fit but not always exact. I put an after market cat in and it twisted my exhaust. I finally got it to sit right on the back bumper but I had to add some hangers to get more pull on it in some areas.
